Born in France, Normandy, in 1984, Etienne JEANNE learned the guitar at the age of 10 as a self-taught musician. Deeply passionate by rock&folk music, the revelation came a few years after when he discovered the music of Django Reinhardt. Aged 18, Etienne moved to Paris to play in Jazz Clubs and Russian Cabarets where he learned to perform traditional Russian-Gypsy music. The nomadic life calling led the 22 years old guitarist to travel the world, full of curiosity for world music, and finally brought him to Shanghai where he is still currently living, performing jazz/soul/funk/pop music in small intimate venues and on major stages with international headlining acts.
In 2021, Etienne released his debut album called “Lost&Found”, featuring compositions made of a subtle mix of gypsy jazz and bebop (GYPSYBOP), guest-starring French world renown accordionist Ludovic BEIER, and China’s amazing music producer PENGFEI (彭飞) on violin.
